Dancing With the Rain

I hear a soft pat on my bedroom window, and I can feel the sky beckon for me. I feel my toes touch my furry pink carpet, and I can already smell the water. I creep through the shadows and into the night, where I can feel the cold spray of the unseen clouds. I look up heavenward and I can feel the sky beckon for me again.
So I glide over into the nearest puddle, and I can see the rain all around me, all those pretty young girls. They dance so elegantly, and they ask me to come and join them. I wanted too, I really did, but I wasn't very good. They said come with us, we'll show you how, and so I said I would.
I stretched out one arm, then the next, and then I began to twirl. I felt like a princess in a whole new world. I giggled as the raindrops smiled, and I knew I could really dance. My face lit up as I danced, soaring into the sky.
Each step stole me away into an endless comfort and joy. I danced all night, and then the dance began to end. First, the older girls left, and then they all began to go.
The remainder of the older raindrops dragged their sisters away from the seen. There were a few who remained, and they danced with even into the sunrise. Then they said their goodbyes and they left too. I watched as they fell to the ground below.
When I woke up I was in my bed, and I wasn't wet at all. Though I knew I hadn't dreamed, because I had learned to dance.
