vocabulary from FableHaven book three

1) Reclined- The sentence I found this word in was: Two days later, Kendra reclined on her back behind a hedge in the yard..." I think reclined means to set aside.  The meaning I found said that it means: "Relaxing in a leaning or lying position with your back supported.

2)  Nagging- The sentence I found this word in was: "...she could not silence certain nagging questions."  I think nagging means that something keeps returning, like her thoughts.  Nagging means to have "a persistent pain or worry."

3)  Elusive-  The sentence I found this word in was:  "I never really did trust the Sphinx, although if you think he is elusive now, you should try tracking down him in my day."  Given the background from the sentence I think elusive means to deceive.  The definition I found said, "Something that hard to find, achieve, or catch."

4)  Futile-  The sentence I found this word in was:  "I would rather it had been me, I would give anything, anything, but such wishing is futile.  Judging by the information in the sentence I think futile means unproductive.  The real definition means that something is "pointless".

5)  Protocol-  The sentence I found this in reads:  "None had herd of the incident- a severe breech of protocol."  I think protocol means to lie.  The definition I found claimed that it meant "offical procedures that are used to govern diplomatic occasions and the affairs of state."

6)    Implication-  The sentence I found this in reads,  ""Happy birthday to you!"  Seth exclaimed, his voice full of implications."  I think implication means that something is full of many things other than what it appears as.  The definition I found claimed that it means "a conclusion that you can draw out of something, even though its not clearly stated."
