I'm really disliking this book. Its a chore just to read it. The way the author writes, which is all newspaper like, is written in a very grownup way. There's words that I can't comprehend and I can't fully grasp what the story. I'm on about page fifty and the author hasn't said much about the characters. She's said a little more, but not enough.
Pretty much all I know about the characters is that they arrived in Elkhead by train and were greeted by Farrington Carpenter. They ate dinner and were taken to their room, witch already had furniture in it. Then in the morning they had breakfast with cowboys who didn't say much, but had good manners. Next Carpenter gave them horses to borrow, and then it talks about that they went to Smith (a school for only woman). It says that they did fun things with their friends, didn't have a desire to be married yet, and a few other things.
I read the description of the book and it said that it was about the girls getting an education, and how Carpenter has a plan to marry them off to some guys. Its just I thought that it would focus more on the education. Its a two hundred and ten page book, you'd think it would have more to comment on about their education. Most of the book isn't even about the girls. It just tells about events in history in the area of Elkhead or their home town.
I do like some of the historical events that she adds to the story, but they are taking up most of the book. If I was asked if I'd recommend this book to anyone I'd say no.

Janitors book three By Tyler Whitesides
In this story Spencer finds himself in a tight situation when he finds out the BEM is hunting his dad. He desperately leaves class with Daisy to warn him, but when he gets home he finds out he's off the grid. Which means he won't answer because someone has found the package that could contain the secret of disposing toxites forever. The reason why none of Spencer's dads team can contact each other is because they don't want the BEM listening on their plans. As soon as Spencer's dad and his team is assembled (which includes Daisy and Spencer) they open the package and journey to a secret landfill where the Aurans are.
I liked how in the story the Aurans lied and said that they'd take the team to the source of glop that toxites are born from. What they really plan to do is to somehow separate Spencer from the rest of the team so they can pan him.
The three boy Aurans (who were panned and not among the girls) warn Spencer that getting panned (when a glopified dustpan is wielded to you) takes away your Auran powers and traps you in the landfill forever unless the pan is remove. Spencer is the only one who is left that can remove the pan from the other boys, because the boys have special powers that the girls don't have.
The Aurans and the team travel through a valley of tires that are stuck together in large towers. They also go through a forest with trees that are giant fork, knives, and spoons.
This is the part when the Aurans take Spencer and the BEM waits to attack the team (they were trapped in a giant seven up can because a bunch of mud closed off their exit, and they were digging themselves out). The Aurans take Spencer to Broomstaff island to get panned (you can only be panned under the right conditions). When the nine girl Aurans leave Spencer on the island tied to a giant wooden broom staff, the tenth Auran girl comes up to him. She unties Spencer from the duct tape and helps him escape the island surrounded in steaming glop. He goes back to help the team with the BEM, and the tenth Auran says she'll try to convince the other Aurans that the boys aren't bad.
All the imagination made this a great story. I think my favorite part of the story was when they were at the landfill, because of the creativity.
Nothing Daunted by Dorothy Wickenden
I liked how the author, Dorothy gave background on the story. The way she writes makes the story kind of fun. The only problem about the background she's giving, is that so far that is what the story has mostly been about. She started the story with the girls Ros and Dorothy arriving at their destination and describing how their parents wanted them to take more stuff. The author also talks about Farrington Carpenter and the letter he sent them about the preparations he's made for their arrival. The story continues talking about the background of Auburn, which is the city they left from. They mention the history of Auburn such as the gold rush and woman trying to get rights. There are only glimpses of what Dorothy and Ros are doing. Things that are simply said like, Dorothy and Ros (Rosamond) arrived at the hotel. The hotel was over the theaters districts and Denvers business. After that it went on to take about railroads. What I don't understand is that I thought the story was about Dorothys and Rosamonds, not the background of Auburn. I think the author put in to much info about Auburn instead of focusing on Dorothy and Ros.
Even though I didn't enjoy what the author put into the story, I did enjoy how she wrote things. Dorothy (the author) found some interesting events to add onto the story, which kept me absorbed in the story sometimes. The events added some excitement to the story. One example from the story is when she said that Dorothy's (the character) dad put twenty dollar coins in the napkins of his birthday guests (on his birthday). Another technic she used to write the story was that the way she told the story sounded like a newspaper. I thought it was kind of fun, but for the most part it wasn't.

When the Volcano Cries
When the Volcano Cries
Thunder rumbles beneath the earth's dirt layer. The surrounding land shudders violently. For a brief few seconds the island lies hushed. Suddenly that once peaceful mountain exhales a fiery breath into the air. Tears plummet down the mountains face as it painfully washes away any zits or moles.
The river of tears falls off his face into a puddle. As the puddle expands it begins to ooze across the land. The searing tears sweep over trees and shrubs. They race each other to see who's the fastest.
Back at the mountain it gives another angry breath, expelling more contestants for the race. As the contestants race down the mountain's face, the smoke escapes the burning haze.
The smoke grabs hold of his girlfriend --the ash. She accepts his hand and darts up along with him. Its then that they begin to dance.
By now the mountain's cried all it can, and it has no more tears to dismiss. The last of his tears hurriedly flee down him to catch up to the rest.
As they proceed, some accidentally descend in lakes, rivers, or streams. The rest trudge on to prove that they can win. When they finally start to catch up they begin to slow, because the cold starts eating them. They pass by frozen comrades and still go on to win. Competition feasts on their minds, and the cold beats on their backs. Then they freeze like their friends, never to move again.
Up in the sky the smoke fades, and the ash begins to fall. For one last time they gaze at each other. As she descends and he floats up they give one final kiss. They try to stay together but she could not float. So as they go separate ways they wave good bye, only to wait another thousand years to see each other again.
Flu Shot Causes Death: News from KSL
In Sandy a woman claimed that her son passed away from a flu shot. The nineteen year old boy was ready to submit his papers for a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was also in full health.
Chandler Blake Webb (the nineteen year old boy) got sick the day after he got the flu shot. The article read that this was the first flu shot he ever had.
In the hospital Chandler suffered from vomiting and shaking. Then he fell into a comma. About a month later he died.
To find out the cause of his true death people ran tests on Chandler to see what he died of. They found that he didn't die of decease. The CDC says that they haven't seen the flu with this outcome before. Experts wanted to do a brain autopsy on Chandler, but Miss Webb said no.
I agree that Chandler died of the flu shot. For some people flu shots don't work very well for them, and it makes them sick. Another sign of evidence that Chandler died of a flu shot is the symptoms he had. On the news it said that he was shaking, vomiting, and fell into a comma. I looked up symptoms of the flu online, and it labeled those as symptoms of influenza (the flu). Since shots are a weakened form of a virus it would make sense that he got the flu. Maybe the virus in the shot wasn't actually weakened like the doctors thought. If he was sensitive to the shot or the virus was too strong I don't know, but I think its the flu shot that killed him.

Responding to Racist Statements #2
1. Racism only affects the person its used against
I think that racism affects more that the person its used against. When you use a racist comment against someone it makes other people feel bad.
2. Minorities are better off than they were fifty years ago
I think that minorities are better off now than they were back then. Back then (in the nineteen sixties) the minorities were forced to be slaves. Now the minorities are free and they aren't slaves.
3. Is being prejudice less than, more than or about the same in the US as it was fifty years ago
I think that people aren't as prejudice as they were fifty years ago. Back then they treated colored people horribly. They even sprayed them with fire hoses. Today, people are more respectful of each other.
4. Do you think people in Utah get the same justice in court as people get in Florida
I think that all states in the US have similar or the same justice in court because this is a free, governed country. So if all the states in the US have the same justice then Florida must have the same justice as in Utah.
Read and Response to Courage Statments
1. What does it mean to be courageous?
To be courageous means to do something despite feeling scared.
2. In general, who do you believe are the people that have the most courage?
I think the most courageous people are the ones with the most self confidence, because they believe in themselves. Believing is an important key to accomplish things.
3. Who is the person your life you believe is the most courageous? Why?
I think the most courageous person in my life is my mom. Even when she's feels nervous she pushes away her fears, and does what she set out to accomplish. Sometimes its hard for her, but she presses forward anyways.

read and response: Topic-Prejudice
1) Prejudice can be invisible
I disagree, I don't think prejudice is invisible because people say rude things from judging others all the time, which hurts peoples feelings. Also if your judgmentally of others in your mind, others can somehow sense that you think judgmentally of them.
2) There is no prejudice in Asia or Africa (outside USA)
There is prejudice all over the world, not just in the USA. People are rude and call out offensive statements all the time. It happens all over the world still. Some people are still slaves in other countries. People tend to get judgmental easily.
3) What is your definition of prejudice? How does racism relate to prejudice?
Prejudice is being judgmental of others. The reason why racism is related to prejudice is because people are judgmental of other people with different colored skin.
4) To Kill a Mockingbird has been banned in several states. What is your opinion on banning books because of racial themes?
I think that racial themed books shouldn't be banned. The people need to learn to learn what occurred in the past, so that they don't make that same mistake of slaving (different colored skin) other people again.

Janitors book two by Tyler Whitesides
I found this book to be better than the first. Tyler Whitesides made the story more intense. Although I don't think the writing was better he made up for it with the adventure in his book. Things happened faster and you weren't kept waiting forever. Also when he writes a paragraph that reviews what happened in the last story, he somehow writes it in a fun way. Unlike the reviewing Brandon Mull did.
Tyler has also put comic relief characters in his adventurous book. Those characters are Daisy and Dez. Things they mess up in saying or thinking makes you laugh. An example is when Dez learns about the BEM, (Bureau of Educational Maintenance) and that Daisy and Spencer are leaving to go somewhere safe from the BEM. He then says "Your not going to leave me here with the Big Evil Monkeys".
I think that you have to be careful making unintelligent comic relief characters because sometimes people make them too stupid and then its not funny, its annoying. Even though Tyler made his comic relief characters not very intelligent, he did a great job making then funny. They add the icing on the cake to the story.
To be protected Daisy, Spencer, and Dez go to a school called New Forest academy. The school is supposed to be free of toxites. The owner of it, Director Garcia seems nice and friendly through out the book. He seems to care about the kids. Then suddenly, he and every adult in the school (its a BEM school) take the intelligent kids and lock them in the tennis court. They then have giant toxites feed on there brainwaves. Spencer, Daisy, and Dez were captured by the janitor Slick, and Min (a kid who hasn't been exposed to toxites, but knew the three kids were kidnapped) helps them escape. Then the four children go to rescue the other kids in the school.

Childhood Memories
Sister Butler
When I was a little girl my siblings and I often visited sister Butlers house (my relative). We would ride on her lap while she pushed around in her wheel chair, and we would also play with Lincoln Logs.
My Fifth Birthday
Before moving to Eagle Mountain I had my last birthday there, my fifth birthday (in my grandmas house). I remember having a barbie birthday, with barbie cake and party hats. There were also edible balls covered with multicolored sprinkles. I remember having Jared, Conner, McKenzie, and some other guests there. Then that where my memory of my fifth birthday ends.
McKenzie
I remember that when I was little I would go play with one of my friends named McKenzie. I think she lived in a couldisac and she had blond hair. Sadly that's all I can recall.

Janitors book one by Tyler Whitesides
I liked the creativity Tyler Whitesides (the author) used to establish his story. In this story the janitors killed bad magical creatures (called toxites) to keep education from failing. The toxites breath in the brain waves of kids and breath out waves of distraction, boredom, and drowsiness. These toxic waves make the kids dumber. The toxites only stay in elementary schools though, because the brain waves of most Jr high students and people older have foul brain waves to them. Tyler claimed that there were three bronze hammers with matching nails that enabled a janitor to be a warlock. The warlocks were the only people, besides the Aurains, who could use raw glop. This glop made it so the warlocks could make magical weapons to fight the toxites with. The only catch was that the things that were glopified had to be things that janitors use. Evil people called the BEM, are installing their own janitors and letting toxites overrun schools. Spencer and Daisy are working with Walter (the only good warlock) and the rebel underground (the good guys). Together along with Marv, Walter assistant, they work against the BEM to save education.
Honestly, I didn't really like the authors style of writing. It was too easy to read, which made it less intense. In Brandon Mulls book he used tons of large descriptive words that made the story intense, but Tyler Whitesides didn't do that. The reason I read it was for the interesting story. I've read the series before and I wanted to reread them. The book I really want to read is the third one, because it is really creative and interesting. Actually most of book one was rather dull. It didn't really get interesting till the end. It was kind of boring in a way. The author didn't express the story well enough.

Read and respond to what you think about racism
Question One: All bad people are racist.
You may think that only bad people are racist, but I think that's not quite accurate. I'm sure many of the racist people aren't very good. Other people, good people, might just be confused of deceived. They may not recognize that their poor decision, and believe that they are doing the right thing.
Question Two: Do you think racism is a touchy subject or not?
In my opinion racism is a touchy subject and it makes people kind of uncomfortable. So if I were you I wouldn't talk about it openly. also if your not careful you could hurt someones feelings.
Question Three: Does racism exist today?
Unfortunately racism still exists today. Some individuals are racist and other places (outside the U.S.A) have tons of racist people.
Question Four: Can you keep racism from affecting your children
You will be unable to keep racism from affecting your children, because eventually they're going to hear about it. Most likely they'll fell bad for the people that are disliked by racist people.

Fable Haven book five Author: Brandon Mull
I liked that Seth has to get Vasilis, the sword of light and darkness, for his quest. I thought how he confronted the Singing Sisters (to learn the location of the sword) was also creative. I just wish it had seemed more of a threat. Again Brandon Mull was explaining how difficult it is to strike a bargain with the sisters, and the threat didn't seem as threatening as it should have been. This is obviously something the other should work on. I also thought that Brandon Mull needs to make the evil lurking in the cave behind the totem wall (in a cave) more threatening. In the cave he only faces two obstacles, none of which I think a threatening enough.
When Seth journeyed into the cave to face his final (second threat) threat I found it surprising that it was one of the undead. Just like the undead that he first had to confront earlier in the cave. As it continues on with the undead man conversing with Seth, its interesting to learn that the man is and once was a wizard. In fact he was one of the wizards who sealed Zyncs (the demon prison). The wizard also claims that he's the owner of Vasilis and that he was brought here to guard it. Along with this interesting information you find out that he was a prideful wizard and was soon to die. To try to stop the outcome of his death he turned himself into one of the undead to preserve his life. Vasilis, like the unicorn horn, can only be given, even after death. Well except after death your friends are free to take the sword but not your enemies. Since the wizard was unwilling to part with the sword the other wizards (his friends) were forced to post him as a guardian over the sword.

What does it mean to be civilized?
Though you may think that civilized means having lots of technology it doesn't. To be civilized means that a group (or individual) can stage cultural, moral development, and being social. In "The Most Dangerous Game", Zaroff thinks he's civilized because he has technology. He isn't civilized because he hunts people which is not being social, and he's not showing moral development either. So he isn't civilized. To be civilized you must stage cultural, moral development, and being social.

Fable Haven book five: Reading response two
Momentarily I'm reading Fable Haven book five. I've noticed that in the other books that Brandon Mull has told you what has previously happened in the other books. This has really annoyed me, because I already know what happened in the other books and it takes time away from the story. I'm just glad that in Fable Haven book five the author hasn't done that as much, and not as long either. I think it makes the book more enjoyable.
I found the Sphinx's (bad guy) background interesting. When the Sphinx captured Seth he told him of his childhood. He said as a child he was taken as a slave to work at the fifth secret preserve called Mirror Mirage. This secret preserve is the one that no one was able to find. The Sphinx said he acted like a good slave so his captors would get more comfortable around him, and eventually he could overthrow them. He then did it with the help of a demon named Nagi Luna. He said that she was perhaps the most powerful demon in the world. So now he is trying to get the keys to open Zyncs, the great demon prison. He believes that eventually someone will open it and then the world will be destroyed. He thinks that if he is the one to open it then he can control the demons. So really he has good intentions, but doesn't see the problem of the situation.
I know from reading the book that the demons from the prison Zyncs escape because I've read the book before. However I don't remember the end. In book one they did say that the magic that locked up the demons in Zyncs was long forgotten. No one knows how to stop demons that powerful anymore. I predict that Kendra, her family, and her friends will some how find a way to stop the demons from escaping as the prison slowly opens. My other prediction for the ending is that maybe the demons will escape and then they will some how figure out how the wizards long ago imprisoned the demons.

What is Pride?
What is pride? Pride means to be proud. Is pride good or bad? I think that pride is both good and bad.
I think that pride is bad because often times we get too prideful and become self absorbed. Which leads us to make bad, hurtful decisions. I think pride is a good thing because its important to be proud of yourself. I think that being proud builds your self esteem, and your self confidence.
There's also many other good and bad things that having pride can do. I can't name them all, so what I listed will have to do.

Reading book report one: Fable Haven book four: Date: October 29, 2013
I disliked the end of the story. In it the author impossible it was to get hold of the artifact on the preserve Wyrmroost. Then when they had to battle the three guardians shielding the artifact they defeated them too easily. I think that maybe Brandon Mull was excited or something because it was rushed. In fact it was so rushed and easy that I thought that the impossible part of the story was easier or just as hard as earlier threats. On working on the other obstacles the characters had to face Brandon Mull took his time. The rushed ending made it less exciting. The tension never built up high enough.
Gavin, the boy who Kendra had a crush on, was a very good fighter and contributed a lot in fights with dangerous creatures. He was also a dragon tamer. Dragon tamers are able to talk to dragons without being paralyzed by the magical fear they use to freeze people. As the story progresses Gavin leaves his friends with permission to try to put a hydra to sleep with arrows dipped in a fluid that causes you to sleep. Then later when Tanu, Mara, Dogan, Trask, Seth, Gavin, and Kendra (Warren was in a magical room in a knapsack because he'd been wounded) were trying to escape from dragons, the team is split up. Dogan, Gavin, Mara, and Kendra charge toward a small crevice in which the dragons won't be able to fit in. When a dragon blocks their path Gavin tries to keep it from devouring them. Seeing there's no hope he charges the dragon and as he does he turns into a dragon himself (his true form). He starts to battle the other dragon then stops to gobble up Dogan. Then he knocks Mara off the cliff and thrusts Kendra onto the ground with his claws. Kendra now realizes that hes been a traitor all along and that hes only acted like he cared about her. Then he showed his true form, which was uncaring. After Gavin battles the other dragons he transforms back to human and goes after Kendra, whom he was assumed to like. This was a huge change of character in the story. He used to be a nice stuttering boy, but now he was a cruel heartless beast.rea
Gavin, the boy who Kendra had a crush on, was a very good fighter and contributed a lot in fights with dangerous creatures. He was also a dragon tamer. Dragon tamers are able to talk to dragons without being paralyzed by the magical fear they use to freeze people. The Progression of my Relationship With my Sister
My sister and I have never really gotten along well. Most of our relationship is just plain arguing. We don't take the time for each other very much. I'm either always firing back at her or I try to be nice. So nice that I'm taken advantage of. I've always thought its impossible for her to be nice to me, unless she works at it for a terribly long time. Recently, I've somehow found the happy medium. I'm nice to her, and at the same time being myself. Instead of criticizing her and telling her what and what not to do, I've started suggesting. Although its been less than a week I've seen lots of changes coming together Now we've been spending more time together and shes been willing to take my suggestions. I've also seen changes in myself. I'm more patient and I'm more willing to help my sister out. By showing kindness it hasn't just affected her relationship with me its affected the whole family. My sister no longer yells at my other sister, instead she asks for her to please stop doing something that's annoying. I plan to continue progressing in becoming a better person to my family.
My Bucket List (and the reason why I have one of those items on my list)
BUCKET LIST
1) See the eight wonders of the world
2) Get a scholarship for collage
3) Become famous
4) Learn which clan I'm from in Ireland (or Scotland)
5) Write a chapter book in my youth
6) Fly in a hot air balloon
7) Go to Italy
8) Build a beautiful garden
9) Go paragliding
10) Go hang gliding
Something I'd like to do is build a gorgeous garden that contains different kinds of gardens in it. By different kinds of gardens I mean like a Japanese garden, American garden, Ireland garden, Iceland garden, Ecuador garden, etc. The reason why I have added this to my bucket list is because I want to accomplish something amazing that everyone will enjoy, like the Butchart gardens (in Canada) and the Thanksgiving Point gardens. Its important to me because I've dreamed of having a gorgeous garden and I want to build it for my mom. I'll have my mom help me decide so;me of the things she wants. I can just imagine beautiful flowers blossoming everywhere. There's occasional fountains, creeks, waterfalls, bridges, gazebos, streams, and even a lake. There would be tons of gardens from different places with things in them from those different cultures.

Reading Response 2: Fable Haven Book Four
In Fable Haven book four Kendra's family and friends are out to seek the key to Wyrmroost (a dragon sanctuary) so they can recover the artifact there before the Sphinx gets it first. The key isn't any specific key, its just any first unicorn horn (which are extremely rare). In Fable Haven unicorns shed there horns twice in their lives. The only one they know of is the one Patton Burgess (the old caretaker of Fable Haven) gave to the centaurs. So they go to ask the centaurs if they can borrow the horn to help save the world. The centaurs selfishly refuse to lend them the horn and describe how impossible it is to steal the horn. One thing that prevents you from taking the horn is guilt. The horn can only be given to someone or the power from the horn will fill them with extreme guilt so they will be forced to return it. There's also many other complications that keep the horn from being stolen.
That night Seth takes off into the woods to Graulas' cave. There the demon teaches him how to use the magical abilities he inherited that summer and he sets off to capture the horn. One of his abilities as a shadow charmer prevents him from feeling magical guilt or fear, so hes able to steal the horn without feeling guilty. What I didn't like about this part was that I thought it wasn't hard enough for him to acquire the horn. I think that because of the impossible problems for acquiring the horn it should have been harder to retrieve it.
I did think it was a very creative idea about that the horn can not be taken because of the guild one would feel. It makes you try to dig for ideas of how they could possibly lay hands on the horn without feeling guilt. Then went Graulas calls to Seth though thoughts it assures you that he knows how to acquire the horn.

Reading Response 1: Fable Haven book four
In this book I have enjoyed Brandon Mulls creativity. One part I really liked was the part about the sting bulb. The sting bulb originated as a fruit on a tree and when one of its spikes poked Kendra it took a sample of her DNA. Then it transformed into a duplicate of Kendra.
At the beginning of the story Kendra gets kidnapped by a sting bulb and he takes her to her real captor, Torina. Torina is a vampire that sucks the youth out of the young to keep herself young. Though she won't suck Kendra's youth because shes keeping her captive until her boss, the Sphinx, arrives. So she won't suck Kendra's youth. During Kendra's stay she meets some of Torina's victims. When someone new is tricked into coming to Torina's house Kendra tries her best to warm the man so that he doesn't become a victim too. She doesn't want him or anyone else to suffer the fate of Torina's other victims.
Brandon Mull incorporates the characters feelings about the changes occurring around them. He relates after the sting bulb (duplicate, that replaces Kendra when shes kidnapped) dies Seth, her brother, mourns over the loss of his sister. He also describes Kendra's desperation to escape from her captors and reunite with her family. The strong feelings he uses in these parts and other parts of the story make you feel what they feel with them. Its written very well and it makes you sad when one of the characters is sad, happy when they're happy.

Current News Events
Cause of the Weber County Fire
Earlier this morning at eight AM there was an accident involving two trucks, and one of the trucks contained diesel fuel in it. The fuel was scattered onto the westbound and east bound lanes, and then the fire roared to life. They then closed I-84. Fortunately, one of the truck drivers was sent to the hospital with minor injuries. The resources I selected told nothing of the second driver. My resources were KSL/news.com and fox13now.com.
People go to National Parks Even Though They are Closed
As I'm sure you all know by now that the government shut down and so the national parks closed down with it. Even though the government closed there were still national parks with business because the people didn't care what the government. In fact, the business doubled. One example of this is at Dead Horse Point. At this national park there was three hundred fifty cars that came the day before Dead Horse Point closed. Then the next day five hundred eighty eight cars came to the national park. Fortunately, the government has reopened and the national parks are reopening as well. My resources were KSL/news.com and fox13now.com.
Forged Papers for Released Prisoners
On September seventeenth Joseph Jenkins was released from the prison that confined him to a lifetime imprisonment. The reason for his lifetime punishment in the Franklin Correctional Institution was because he murdered the dad of a family of six kids. Then another prisoner named Charles Walker was released from the same prison which bound Joseph in Florida. Charles got released from prison on October eighth. The documents for the prisoners read that they could get released early, when the were confined to the prison to live out their days. Documents from the crime have told us that they were forged and the only thing that was correct about them was the chief judge's (of the case) signature. Though, Perry (the chief judge) didn't sign the false documents. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has been seeking out more information about the forged documents. There is also a search for the dangerous criminals. My resources were www.foxnews.com and abcnews.go.com.
FableHaven book three (reading report)
I liked the idea that Kendra, her friends, and the creatures of Fable Haven had to stop the plague from turning all the light creatures dark, because it intensified the story. It made it really interesting. I thought it was really sad how Lena dies at the end of the book, because everyone in the book cares about her a lot. As a naiad Lena was into drowning people and really didn't care about them, but when she saw Patton Burgess she came out of the water and turned human. When she was with Patton that's all she could really think about and she was severely in love with him. Before in book one when she was human she was old and really helpful, but didn't say much about Patton.
Something that puzzled me and made me upset, was that Brandon Mull claimed that Seth had some special power that made him resistant to magical fear that the evil magical creatures used on people, so the he wouldn't freeze because of fear. This puzzled me because in book two Brandon Mull said that Seth went to a haunted mansion and he didn't get his powers till later after he went to the manor. The creature in the manor came after him but he didn't freeze. Then in book three when the grownups went with Seth to the haunted manor they were frozen with magical fear and Seth wasn't because of his special power. The grownups were claiming that it was good that Seth was with them because he survived the manor earlier that summer because he was resistant to magical fear. My point is that he didn't get his powers till after the manor so he should have been frozen with magical fear the first time he went there. So I clearly believe Brandon Mull never really took the time to think through the order of events he placed in the story.

vocabulary from FableHaven book three
1) Reclined- The sentence I found this word in was: Two days later, Kendra reclined on her back behind a hedge in the yard..." I think reclined means to set aside. The meaning I found said that it means: "Relaxing in a leaning or lying position with your back supported.
2) Nagging- The sentence I found this word in was: "...she could not silence certain nagging questions." I think nagging means that something keeps returning, like her thoughts. Nagging means to have "a persistent pain or worry."
3) Elusive- The sentence I found this word in was: "I never really did trust the Sphinx, although if you think he is elusive now, you should try tracking down him in my day." Given the background from the sentence I think elusive means to deceive. The definition I found said, "Something that hard to find, achieve, or catch."
4) Futile- The sentence I found this word in was: "I would rather it had been me, I would give anything, anything, but such wishing is futile. Judging by the information in the sentence I think futile means unproductive. The real definition means that something is "pointless".
5) Protocol- The sentence I found this in reads: "None had herd of the incident- a severe breech of protocol." I think protocol means to lie. The definition I found claimed that it meant "offical procedures that are used to govern diplomatic occasions and the affairs of state."
6) Implication- The sentence I found this in reads, ""Happy birthday to you!" Seth exclaimed, his voice full of implications." I think implication means that something is full of many things other than what it appears as. The definition I found claimed that it means "a conclusion that you can draw out of something, even though its not clearly stated."

Reading: Fable Haven Book One and Book Two
I love this book because its full of adventure. Reading this book was like watching a movie. Although I liked the book, its sad how Lena (the house keeper) was taken back to the pond to be a naiad again. Seth is the curious younger brother of Kendra, who is always getting into trouble. I think without him the story wouldn't be as interesting since he causes all the trouble. The main character, Kendra, is always wanting to play it safe and keep the rules. Without her the story wouldn't be the same, especially since she saves the day in the end of the story. It surprised me how Tanu became an albino. I didn't remember that part. I love the big words Brandon Mull uses in his book. To me it makes the story feel more exciting and more intense. The way he writes makes hes stories come to life. I want to write cool stories like him.
Would you Rather
1) I'd rather take a one week trip to a foreign country of my choice than take a four week trip around my country. Then I'd be able to meet new people and learn about other cultures. It would also be fun to know more than one language. If I took a four week trip around my country I would see many things that I've seen before. Not as much would be new.
2) I'd rather be the worst player on a team that always wins even though it would make me sad and I'd feel like I was holding the team back. I'd do this because I'm trying to kill my I'm the best (jealousy) cow. Besides someone could befriend me and help me get better.

LIKE, WRITE
One of my hobbies is writing. I can write really good poems, and like to write stories. I also keep several journals.
NAME, MEANING\
I remember that one day I asked my mom what my name meant. Then, after she told me the meaning of my name, I asked what our last name meant. She then replied, SON of great power.
SPANISH, MISTAKE
When I first started Spanish I was given a list of Spanish words and sentences to study. As I studied these words I came to a sentence that read "Como Te llama"?. Instead of pronouncing it Como Te yumma like the way you should. I said Como Te lama.
TUMBLE, SNOWY
At home I have a dog named Snowy and when he plays with his toys he growls, so its really noisy. One time my mom was playing with him while my dad was doing online collage. My dad asked her if she could quiet the dog so he could concentrate better. So she threw the toy downstairs. Snowy charged after it as fast as he could. Then he tripped and tumbled down the stairs. He didn't want to play after that.

Being Successful
What does it mean to be successful? Being successful means you set a goal, and then you go out to accomplish it.
What does a successful person look like to you? A successful person is someone who works hard and gets what they need to get done first before they do something fun.
What do you have to have in order to be successful? To be successful you need to be a hard worker and do what it takes to get what you want.
Do you consider yourself successful? I think I'm successful because I'm a hard worker. How ever I'm not always successful because I don't always do what I have to do first before something fun.
How do you consider your success in the future? To guarantee my success in the future I plan to dispose of my cow. In which, one of them is getting done what needs to be done first.

Momentarily, I'm going to a school in Lindon, when I haven't even seen the people living in my neighborhood. I live in Eagle Mountain and our house is under contract. So as soon as it sells for sure we will rent a house and begin building our home on the lot that we bought.
BUGS, EWW
One thing I hate is bugs. I think they're gross. Especially spider, scorpions, and beetles. The funny thing is that when I was a little girl I caught bugs and made a nice bug collection.
CRUST, PIE
Something funny about me is that I like the taste of pie crust. In fact I like it just as much as the rest of the pie.
Donuts, Riddley's
I love donuts. NOT the "Little Debbie's" kind, but the fluffy ones. I like to call Riddley's the donut store because every time I walk in, it smells like donuts.
